Assignment: Collect 25 Abraham Lincoln era photos and 25 current era photos taken by myself.
Craft: I collected Lincoln era photos through Google, wikipedia, and other websites. I found many pictures of Lincoln, a couple of photos from the Civil war, and one photo from Ford Theater where Lincoln was assassinated. I looked through my archives and found a few photos of I took of friends and family. My other photos came from residents around my dorm.
Composition: (Lincoln photo to the left) This is my favorite photo of Abraham Lincoln because it shows a lot of Lincoln and his sons personality. Most of Lincoln’s photos are of him looking serious. In this photo, Lincoln looks like he is trying to stay serious, but about to crack a smile or burst out in laughter. I feel like this photo shows what kind of father Lincoln was. The son looks like he is telling a joke or being sarcastic with “his pops.” Their father-son relationship looks strong, fun, and admirable. The Current Era photo is fun. There is a lot of activity. This photo shows a lot of friendship. One person likes to drink and the others just ignore him. However, the passed out friend is still part of the circle around the table.

Concept: I choose these photos because Lincolns facial features are very clear and Lincoln is smiling. This is a typical shot of Lincoln, but the other photo would make a good mix. Guitar Hero is big trend right now. The Guitar Hero commercial always have interesting celebrity sponsors and Lincoln would look good rockin; out to Guitar Hero. Lincoln would look very hip despite his old age and presidential status. This picture makes Lincoln look like he can relate to the young American generation.
